Daum(Daum Communications Corp.), one of the largest Korean search engines, and Google, the world top search engine, have been teamed up to stand up to Naver, the largest Korean search engine.

To create synergy in business, Daum switched to Google for cost-per-click advertising agency when its contract with Yahoo’s Overture expires in Dec 2007. It helped Google who struggle to survive in Korean SEO & SEM market at that time. It was big step toward for Google to take stable position in Korea search engine market. Google’s technological edge and Daum’s market strengths have made win-win model which is beneficial to both.
Daum, access to Youtube contents
Early in 2008, Google and Daum agreed further partnership. After negotiating for a long time, Google finally started providing Daum access to all of YouTube’s contents on their search result. Now ‘TV pot’, the video service provided by Daum, is able to extract video files from Youtube. It upgraded quality of Daum’s video search result by using vast amount of Youtube database, also Impression of Youtube’s contents to Korean web users.
Ready for Web 3.0
Google-Daum widget-gadget conference held October 31, 2008. In this session, lots of worldwide well known web experts present about Web 2.0 and 3.0.
Even though this video clip is posted half of year ago, it still give us some insight of Web 3.0. One of presenter, Eric Schmidt said about Web2.0 and future web based on Ajax applications for Web 3.0.
