Contents in each page matter, because crawler will read its text which matches to keyword typed in and capture them on to the result page. This is why writing contents are decisively important for SEO. It should consider the relevancy between what you are writing and what your users might search for.

1. Ensure what you are writing: Depending on the purpose of the site and contents you are writing it can be fact, journals, article, news or your opinions on certain subject etc. whatever the issue will be you will have to admit that the contents you are about to upload will be presented to public which you should carefully researched and thought through. It is your dignity mentioning about any issues to be shared with users.

2. Link out to your sources: Google detect links on your site as extra avenues and to see possibility of further information.

3. Unique contents It is important that you are writing your own contents, rather than copying them from other sites. If you use contents from other site, it will only duplicate but if you are creating an original message they will be the one who will copy your contents. If you are concerned of keeping your contents safe under copyright there are places where you can be protected by government, such as United State copyright office.

4. Users participation: Involving users to participate is another good idea. It would be good to let them question or leave comment, or review on something that you wrote if possible.

5. Correct use of spelling and grammar: If spelling mistake occurs, crawlers will most likely find it as spam. Always make sure that you are using the correct spellings and grammars.

Web designers and developers design sites mainly for site users, they don’t really realize how the site will be appealing to search engine which is fair enough. Various techniques and graphic methods are applied in entire site in order to grab visitor’s eyes in a second. It is fact that a decision whether they would stay or leave will be made instantly. As applying good visual effect is important in terms of web site design, using interactive programs such as Flash is a new fashionable approach in online trend today.

But we need to consider something here! While using flash impresses your site users, search engines don’t recognize it well therefore it is not indexing your site at all. I am not saying that you should never use flash and not follow trend or style just because search engines will ignore your site, but if you know how to use them in better way it will be only beneficial. Search engine will support your site to stay in good ranking - so it will be more visible to your users just before they are about to impress with your site design.

1. Use flash when it is really necessary – Try not to use flash for entire site. It is a great tool for interactive aspect. If you would like to use the function, use it right when it is absolutely necessary.

2. Use Alt tag – If you make good habit on using alt tag it is not only helpful for search engines to notify what images or flash part is (the description of them) but also to your site users especially they are a screen readers (disable friendly sites).

3. SIFR ( Scalable Inman Flash Replacement) - This is a technology that displays text from flash elements. Even if the part is designed with flash, text will be still readable to search engines.

All the links stated from your site to another websites are traceable, these links are connected from your website and this means it is also a route to another websites.

What it is so important about the links are it is another way of telling how fine your neighborhood is. Say if your link was listed in the Link farm where are full of links ran by a site trade links, how relevant is the website linked your business actually is to your website and its contents.

Once a visitor got to your website, now it is the internal links that are structured for your site matters. General site map for your website is not something that robots will read as. There is a certain way that links are set in good structure for spiders will rather recognized. Links within the site will be something search engine robots consider the most when crawling through your website.

Your potential customers and clients are taking link as a pathway to your site. This is why links are very important in terms of SEO solution. Quality links specifies quality website for the search engine. Quality links are treated very importantly from Search engines.

To identify quality links following check list might help you:

1. Relationship with the site – how relevant is it to the subject of the site.

2. Link page communicating to your target audience

3. Link function – does it work?

4. Is the link up-to-date?

5. Is the link present and not critical or contains strong materials?

What Search engines will consider the most is how links are related to each other well as an inbound and outbound links - receiving quality links from outside of your website (Link from other websites) is just as important as good link structures of your website.

Using SEO Analytic Stategy

Good marketing that leads successful business end result often verifies as successful strategy has been performed appropriately to the right target.

In online marketing, total traffic number of visitors for your website proves the volume of people who has actually passed your marketing strategy but does not tell you enough whether they were the right target audiences that you aimed initially. Or the number doesn’t explain you enough with specific profiles of visitors such as genders, age, regions where they are living, or what path took trough your website.

This means, having just a big number of visitors for your site everyday doesn’t mean that you have achieved with great benefit of successful marketing result. Most importantly, you would want to find out on users satisfaction.

It reminds you the importance of using statistic fact based on your website architecture will offer better marketing and business plan, and this is why SEO campaigns with web analytic programs need to be structured and implemented when designing or re-constructing your website.

SEO analytic program will tell you where your visitors came from and even more important things likes keywords they searched for. This will be a great resource that gives much better ideas on reinforce your business and marketing plan.

You may know. This news has been spread everywhere as breaking news last weekend. Korean former president Roh killed himself.

Korean social media plays main role to gathering ideas and opinion from the people. People have had discussion on issues ranging from sports, showbiz to social matter and politicial issue on their blog, cafe(community) and even answers. Sometimes on-line discussion makes people to put into action their opinion off-line.

There is no exception for Mr. Roh’s case. Korean web users share their opinion on this and take action for it. Korean government worrys about maybe it becoming another ‘US mad cow epidemic movement’ in 2008, cause it easily changes its charactor to anti-president movement.

For me as a SEO&SMO strategist, it is always fascinating to see how people power and discussion in online communities become power to change society.

Google Adwords, Channel for Daum online advertising

To create synergy in business, Daum switched to Google for cost-per-click advertising agency when its contract with Yahoo’s Overture expires in Dec 2007. It helped Google who struggle to survive in Korean SEO & SEM market at that time. It was big step toward for Google to take stable position in Korea search engine market. Google’s technological edge and Daum’s market strengths have made win-win model which is beneficial to both.

Daum, access to Youtube contents

Early in 2008, Google and Daum agreed further partnership. After negotiating for a long time, Google finally started providing Daum access to all of YouTube’s contents on their search result. Now ‘TV pot’, the video service provided by Daum, is able to extract video files from Youtube. It upgraded quality of Daum’s video search result by using vast amount of Youtube database, also Impression of Youtube’s contents to Korean web users.

Ready for Web 3.0

Google-Daum widget-gadget conference held October 31, 2008. In this session, lots of worldwide well known web experts present about Web 2.0 and 3.0.

Even though this video clip is posted half of year ago, it still give us some insight of Web 3.0. One of presenter, Eric Schmidt said about Web2.0 and future web based on Ajax applications for Web 3.0.

Google-Daum partnership keeps growing to strengthen broaden their search engine market power against Naver, and also improve search engine environment in Korea. Cheer up!

Korean SEO and Google Korea are bound up each other. Since underlying concept of SEO comes from Google, Korean SEO starts with Google Korea’s foundation.

Downward with Google Korea

Korean SEO? Before Google Korea’s grown-up, nobody cared about Korean SEO. In dominant Korean search engines such as Naver & Daum, CPC and CPM are placed high & most position in search result page, while hardly seen organic search result – Blog, Cafe & Answers take second place. Tragically, Korean search environment got worse. Someone even called Korean search engines as ‘not search engines, but Ad engines’. Quality website started to disapper and nobody followed world web standard and trend. Cause you don’t have to. If you pay more to keyword advertising agency, you got high position, no matter how good or bad your websites are. Your website with full of valuable contents can’t be shown to web users… without tons of money. Korean web users were missing real benefit of worldwide internet, like trapped or something in ‘Ad engines’.

Upward with Google Korea

Korean SEO! Google launched Korean version website September in 2000. From the start, Google Korea shows standard of organic search result and is received with wild enthusiasm by Korean tech-savvys such as supporting Google’s decision to refuse real-name system. Even though Naver and Daum already took firm position, Google Korea started to draw new Korean visitors and showed healthy search environment. Stimulated by that, Daum started using Google Adwords as a official keyword advertising agency and show more accurate organic search results. Finally our toffee-nosed, the no.1 search engine Naver started to be changed! Even though it is slight change and still advertising dominant search result page, there is obvious improvement to follow worldwide search trends. The more Google Korea grows, the healthier Korean search engines become. In March, Google Korea search volume increased by 47 percent from the same month last year, while the industry average was recorded at 16 percent over the same period.

Furthermore, government websites are enforced to follow web standard, general websites are also being advised to follow it. Korean search engines try to escaped from their own league to the world.

Let’s keep our eye on Google Korea’s growth, anticipating its key role to improve Korean SEO environment.
