Revolution? or just Noise?

To be honest with you, I don’t know what so big deal about Twitter is! Everyone keeps talking about Twitter and its microblogging tool (or some even talk about ‘the twitter revolution’.). But I think it just mainly generates gossips about celebrities – Demi moore’s suicide save, Twitter War between CNN vs Ashton. etc. – and I wonder whether it really could make a difference for politics.

Maybe I’m underestimating it, cause I’m not used to it. I sometimes feel like koreans are isolated from worldwide web trend, cause we use our own sites(different search engines, portal sites, social media…) we hardly understand how worldwide popular sites works.

Anyway, if you want to get in touch with hollywood celebrities go to twitter. And if you want to find out who has the biggiest follwer go to twitterholic.com and find out your favorite!

Korean Search Engine No.1 ‘Naver’ has Q&A platform, just like Ask’s

Search enigine site Ask.com is one of my favorite web sites in english, particularly its vertical ‘Q&A’, cause it is similar to vertical ‘Knowledge In’ in Naver.

Naver is no.1 korean search engine. Its search market share in Korea reachs almost 75%. (No.2 Korean search engine ‘Daum’ shares about 15%. Google and Yahoo only share 1.5%, 4% each.)

I entered keyword “widget” in both sites.

                 <Q&A in Ask.com> <Knowledge In in Naver.com>

See?

Among the lots of Naver’s vertical, ‘Knowledge In’ is one of the buzzing spots in Korea. It is real-time question-and-answers platform like ‘Q&A’ in Ask.com. When Naver first came out in search engine market, ‘Knoledge In’ played main role to boost the website. It was new and easy to find the answers when you have questions (with theirs opinion).

Visit Ask.com and play in it. Then you can find your answers and also can have a little sense of how Korean dominant search engine Naver works.
